MIL and summer party

PIL and us were invited to the garden party of MIL’s relatives. We were six altogether so wouldn’t fit in a normal car. Instead of taking two cars for the an hour and half drive MIL suggested that I go to spa for the day and the rest go there in one car. Dc were 4 and 6. Little bit odd I thought and said I am not interested in spa so I come to the party. They rent a seven seater but I felt PIL were annoyed.

Why did MIL have to rent a 7 seater. Why couldn't you just go separately to MIL and PIL? And why are you still ruminating about this in October. What did your husband have to say about it all?

I wouldn’t still be worrying about this in October. It’s not a big deal.

So many questions. Why would MIL suggest you go to a spa - that's extremely weird? Why couldn't you use 2 cars? What did your DH say? I assume your MIL hates you?

Yep, so many questions. Why didn't you just take 2 cars? To be fair though, I would have leapt at the chance of avoiding an in law do by going to a spa for the day

Either mil was being super nice, and giving you a day off, or she’s being super bitchy and didn’t want you at the party.

I don’t know why they had to rent the seven seater. Dh and fil drive and have cars. Really odd the whole thing. Mil doesn’t like me.
