White wine for autumn

Hello mumsnet, I’m wondering if anyone can recommend a nice white wine for a nice cosy autumn evening, fire on, snuggled up kind of thing. I’ve always previously switched to red wine in the autumn but am becoming increasingly intolerant to it.

I love a nice fresh crisp Sauvignon blanc on a hot summers day but need something ‘warmer’ for a cost autumn evening. Am thinking maybe oak aged Chardonnay? Can anyone recommend anything specific? (Preferably available in Waitrose as we get deliveries from there). Thank you 🙂

Orange wine is your friend here. I like Riesling.

I have only tried orange wine once and wasn’t keen but maybe it’s time to try again. Riesling is a great idea, thanks!

I'm really enjoying the Greasy Fingers 'Big Buttery Chardonnay' at the moment.

Description sounds very autumnal...

Greasy Fingers Chardonnay is a generous and flavoursome Aussie favourite. Pale straw in colour, with an aroma of warmed peaches, vanilla custard and cinnamon spice. A generous palate of peach crumble, toasted marshmallow and smoky bacon. Serve chilled with a grilled portobello mushroom burger with provolone cheese.

I buy it in Sainsbury's, Morrisons sometimes has it and I think Tesco.

My googling suggests Amazon also sell it - who knew Amazon did wine 🤔

M&S have a lovely Rully. Currently on offer, still not cheap at £18 reduced from £25 but fantastic.

Grenache blanc.

Do you like rosé? I had an amazing montepulciano rosé recently that felt perfect for this time of year.

Thank you for all the suggestions! Can’t wait to try a few of them out 😊
