Hi. Long story short, had a massive hemorrhagic stroke last August

I am very fortunate mrgin actedfast even though he was still told to prepare or Ds for the worst

However. I'm fed up of being told I'm lucky because I certainly don't feel very lucky

I'm partially paralysed lost my job. Lost my identity and my independence

It's shit quite frankly

I’m so sorry. Have you been offered any counselling?
Its a massive adjustment, you don’t need me to tell your life had been turned upside down.

I havevbeen offered counselling but I just cry which makes people unsure what to say next so as not to upset me further

A good counsellor will allow you to cry, but also offer actual support. There’s bound to be trauma from both the actual event plus how it has affected your life.

Maybe speak to your GP and ask for a referral to a different counselling service.
