Ibuprofen and paracetamol is this correct

After a tooth extraction this morning and in tons of pain, have been alternating paracetamol and ibuprofen.

ibuprofen- Just read the box and says only 1 x tablet 3 times a day they are 400mg. I've taken 2 x tablets twice!!!

This is what I've had today...I've had too much ibuprofen I think

10am paracetamol x 2
1pm ibuprofen x 2 400mg
4pm paracetamol x 2
8pm ibuprofen x 2 400mg
10.50pm x 2 paracetamol

Echoing the advice to not mix paracetamol with off-the-shelves remedies like Night Nurse and Lemsip.

Read the information leaflet that comes with the remedy.

Can't do that for 24 hours but will tomorrow.

Get some codeine if you can, paramol is good
then tomorrow before you take anything, write down what time and what tablets you need to take and space it out so it’s clear

Think Im going to go to bed will wait for call, am so tired been a stressful day.

You can still take a further dose of paracetamol in 4 hours time. Max dose for paracetamol is 8 per day.

Ibuprofen dose sounds high, but we bought some in Spain that were 600 mg. DH didn’t realise and took two at a time with no ill effect. Personally I would try to do without the ibuprofen for a day tomorrow, or if you have to then just take one.

Oh dear I always take 1000mg paracetamol plus 400mg of Ibropfen at the same time! Is that too much?

You're fine, I take 682mg every 6 hours when my condition is playing up. My doctor has confirmed that it's fine to do so. Just for Christ's sake don't take them on an empty stomach, you'll give yourself an ulcer.

You also don't have to alternate with paracetamol, they don't interact so can be taken together if you need them to pack a bigger punch.

Op took 2x400mg ibuprofen which is 800mg
She is still within the maximum limit in 24 hours though

Pharmacist from 111 called back within 15 mins, all fine nothing to worry about, well under anything dangerous but said I was right to call

Didn't need meds through night but feeling abit niggly now so going to take paracetamol as can't face eating anything. Will take 1 ibuprofen after lunch
