Advice for first time Vinted seller

Hi, have never used vinted before, either to buy and sell. I'm not 100% sure how the postage part works when you accept an offer. The buyer pays and you get sent a label, is that it? Or am I completely misunderstanding?

Yes that’s right. They pay the cost of the item plus the cost of the postage and Vinted’s fee. You print the label off and send it off.

Go to your settings and only allow the postage options which you want i.e. those which are convenient for you to get to the drop off location and which don’t need you to print a label at home (if you’re like me and find this too much of a faff!) I also removed the Royal Mail option as you are paying it up front and only get refunded the postage when the buyer’s payment is released to you. I also heard that Royal Mail option is easier for scammers to use but not sure how true that is.

@confusedlots

You don't pay for royal mail now upfront - the buyer pays and you get a qr code and the label is printed at the post office just like you do with evri. I think you can also send from some parcelshops, it brings up a list of your local ones.

It is also much quicker than the others as it is a 48hour service and the transaction completes in the same time frame as the other couriers after delivery if the buyer does not click on received.

Thank you very much. And a really stupid question, how do you get the money from the buyer? Do you register a bank account with vinted, or use revolut. Or what?

My tip for selling is to upload several good photos .
I'm constantly surprised at the amount of items with literally one photo or the main photo - the one that's seen before you click in to it - is a label or a box etc.

I find it a great platform - easy to use and pretty intuitive.

Oh and be prepared for the CFs offering silly prices!

It's 'held' for you , so can be used against purchases etc. I let mine build up to a certain amount then withdraw it to my bank account. I guess I set this up when I opened the account.

What if you don’t have a printer?

You don’t need one! You select ‘digital label’ and then scan the QR code at the drop-off point and it prints the label there. Even better with the lockers as it’s completely label-free.

Use all the hashtags in your description - as many as you can think of. It really makes a difference ime and when I forget to add them my item lingers.

Thanks all
