Land vs water snail

So I think I have totally lost the plot now..
my kids have a fish tank. A few little fish and two shrimp. We bought new plants recently and in the past day or so a ‘pond snail’ has appeared. Must have been on the plant…

Anyway, driving home from work I was thinking about the snail in the fish tank and I thought… isn’t it weird that you get snails that live on land and under the water. They look the same but obviously aren’t. I can’t think of another animal like that. Can you?
At first I thought crab. But it’s the same crab that can breathe under the water and on land (for a while).
So is there another animal, that looks the same but there is a land and water version (haha)…

I told you I had lost the plot!!
I tried to ask Alexa and google but I don’t think k I am googling the right way to ask!

Turtles and tortoises? Though they don’t really look the same, and of course turtles can’t breathe underwater.

The thing that I can’t get my head around about snails is that if you put salt on a land snail it doesn’t generally end well. And yet there are sea snails who live in salt water.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets hung up on these little biological mysteries.
