Night away with DH

Me and DH really need a night away - I feel like things are getting a bit "just trudging along" with the usual kids stuff, not to mention now they are getting old enough to never bloody go to bed so we struggle with any "alone" time.....

We live in the Midlands - where would you go for a night and what would you do there?

Is it awful I can't even think of a particular activity or place we would enjoy?! 🙈

Not too spendy if possible - Premier Inn type hotel fine for the right location

The Midland hotel in Manchester is nice and there are some great restaurants in Manchester.

Or Bristol.

Or Liverpool.

Worcester is nice. Walk along the river, shopping, maybe a visit to the cathedral. Dinner and or film later at the cinema.

You’re close enough to get to Manorhaus Ruthin (or their one in Llangollen, I forget what it’s called but it’s on their website). Really nice boutique hotels & in amazing locations. The one in Llangollen especially is perfect for walks around the town or a visit to the Pontcysyllte Viaduct.

Depends what you like, but Chester has lots of options for things to do, history, shops, nice walks, bars/restaurants. We stayed at the Moxy which is a walk along the canal into town.
