Help...birthday gift ideas for DB's 60th

Hi, my brother turns 60 this year. We used to be very close but have been more distant in recent years. I would really like to get him something special for his birthday but am completely stuck. He runs a very busy company, so doesn't really have time for hobbies. He does enjoy cooking, and going out for walks in the countryside when he can. He travels for work quite a bit around Europe. He says he doesn't want anything, and doesn't want to make a big deal of his birthday...so is of no help with ideas! I would usually get him consumables...some nice beers, posh coffee etc. This time I would like to get him something he can keep. To add another complexity I don't have a huge amount of money atm, could afford £40 max. Thanks!

How about a cooking or baking class, our local independent bakers offered a bread making afternoon.

OP, he has told you, ie "He says he doesn't want anything and doesn't want to make a big deal of his birthday" So actually listening to him, and taking him seriously, is the best gift you could give him. If you absolutely must do something, just send a discreet card, or buy him a drink next time you see him.
I recently turned 60, and I can tell you that it's not a big deal and most 60 year olds definitely don't want more "stuff" and hate fuss. I managed to ignore my birthday and, thankfully, most of my friends understood that presents were not required.
Please, please respect his wishes.
