Drinking on sertraline

I've recently started sertraline and have a wedding to attend next weekend. Does anybody on sertraline drink alcohol ?

I do. I probably shouldn't. But I can't imagine that having a couple of drinks at a wedding will do any harm.

The only word of caution is that if you have only recently begun taking it and are still having the transient side-effects, you can't be certain that you won't feel a bit grotty, or a bit more drunk than you would have expected, if you have a couple of drinks.

Would it be practical to have just a glass of wine or beer before next weekend as a dry run?

Yes that's a good idea ! I say recently I've been on it 3 months just haven't drunk anything yet. I have heard horror stories of people blacking out !

Eek! Well, I'm not a dr or anything, so just take my experience as that of one random woman! I've never had a problem with a moderate amount of drinking on sertraline but I wouldn't want to be responsible for a wedding disaster !
