Hi all, I want to take my bestie out for a meal to celebrate her big birthday. It needs to be in Guildford. I don't have a lot of money, so whilst I'd love to take her somewhere like the Ivy Asia, my budget won't go that far!
It doesn't really matter what type of cuisine it is, just that it's a lovely place with lovely food
Any recommendations? Thanks!

Thai terrace?

TheChosenTwo · 26/09/2025 21:41

Thai Terrace is lovely but prices are pretty much on a par now with ivy asia!
Olivio’s is a nice independent, there are a load of bog standard chains in Guildford but some nice little hidden gems if you’d prefer those too.

I’d agree with Olivo.
We also love Gordo’s Mexican. It’s not fancy decor but the food is super tasty, full of flavour and they do nice cocktails.
We also had a lovely meal at the Vietnamese on the high street if you wanted something more Asian inspired.

Thanks! Definitely looking for a hidden gem and not a chain!

It’s a chain but Cosy Club is really nice.

If you’re after something a bit different, I had a really fun night at cocktail bar mumbai. The Indian small plates were great for sharing, and the cocktails were so good – loads of creative choices, not just the usual stuff. It's got a really cool vibe and felt like something you wouldn’t expect in Guildford.

Coppa Townhouse? On the High St.

Oliviios Italian for food check out the set lunch menu which is very reasonable . Dress warm as I sometimes find that place cold inside but food / service is always really good.

Where is this please? Sounds great! Your link is to a rooftop bar in Mumbai rather than Guildford.

Giggling Squid (Thai), March Hare, Olivo.

As well as Olivo, Positano is a lovely independent Italian restaurant.
