Virgin media complaints

Hi, just wondering if anyone had had issues with virgin media before to the point they needed to complain? And if so, could I cheekily ask whether you received compensation?

I complained last week about service issues, nothing has been done but all of a sudden we’ve been left without broadband internet. Had various promised manager callbacks which hasn’t materialised and currently burning through mobile data at a rapid pace. Might have to buy more mobile data but would want an idea about whether it may be reimbursed before doing so as the prices are ridiculous!

I had an internet outage a few years ago, I think it was about 5 days. I said very matter of factly “I’ll be getting a refund for the lack of service”, the first offer was ridiculously low, I insisted on the exact amount and got it.

I was a customer with Virgin Media from before it even was Virgin Media but got rid of it about 2 years ago because the Customer Service was so outrageously bad.
They never phone you back. The call centre people tell you anything just to get you off the line. Just dreadful.

I did think their phone team were shocking.

Every year I’ve spoken to them over the phone to do the dance of cancelling and getting a discounted price, you usually get someone fairly good to keep you as a customer!

But seems like a completely different company when dealing with service issues!

Oh good - did you speak over the phone or was this their formal complaints process? I’m thinking I might need to start placing things in writing now.

Literally just had Virgin replaced today. Agree with pp the customer service is outrageously poor. Constant outages, left without internet over a weekend (twice) engineers don’t turn up, then get 2 at once! Can’t comment on compensation because tbh with all the issues we’ve had I really can not be bothered to deal with them anymore.

Thanks everyone.

If anyone is interested, they gave £50 compensation. I’d say it’s slightly low given the issues involved but I’m just happy to have broadband back!
