I know the answer....
https://www.cdc.gov/autism/hcp/diagnosis/screening.html

Because they screen for it at 18 months and two years.

I wonder if less was found when they weren't looking for it? I wonder if the president has google?

They have to though don’t they for insurance purposes I think as well they have to be rescreened at regular intervals due to insurance

I'm American and all three of mine were born in the US, we moved when the youngest was 6. American kids, in general, get their health care through paediatricians, so I guess maybe that would be part of regular paediatric checks? Mine are NT (even though I took Tylenol a couple times) so I'm guessing if there were concerns or they weren't meeting developmental targets they would have been referred, but it certainly wasn't standard practice to do any extra screening of all children.

Do you seriously actually believe what that man says about Tylenol (paracetamol in the UK)? Did you also believe what he said about drinking bleach to cure covid?

Of course your children are NT. So are hundreds of millions of other children whose mothers took paracetamol during pregnancy. They probably also ate cheeseburgers during pregnancy but nobody's blaming those...

All he has done is to pick something out of thin air and he's chosen paracetamol because it has not so far been proved it doesn't cause autism. On the other hand, there is no scientific evidence whatsoever to prove that it does.

My guess is that there are people in the pharmaceutical industry who have annoyed him, and this is his way of kicking them where it hurts.

Oh dear. A Brit not understanding irony in an American's post. The world truly has been upended.

Um, you might want to calm down and re-read?

Of course I don't believe him. I don't believe a word he says. Never have and never will. My point was that loads of us have taken Tylenol during pregnancy and had NT children. Certainly, if I was having more children (I'm not) and my choice was between running a high fever and taking Tylenol, I'd be swallowing those pills in a second.

But my larger point was that, regardless of what that article says, my kids weren't given any kind of routine screenings for ASD in the US.
