Apparently I don’t exist

I have passport and driving license and pay a lot of tax through paye. I’m british born and bred but the government gateway can’t verify my identity.

Has this happened to anyone else or do I need to panic?

I think the government getting ghost to pay taxes is a great way to fix the economy, but it's not going to help the unemployment figured if they're filling all the jobs.

It happened to me. For some reason HMRC had many different accounts for me. It took a couple of months for all to be merged and then I was verified and the gov gateway worked.
