Has anyone's child done this yr 12 programme. It's for those in the SW and either low income /disrupted schooling/first to got to uni or disabled.

My daughter is autistic and has MJ issues but is likely to. Do v well at A level etc. Any idea how many people get through to the course. Or what angle to put in her application foem

She's mentioned she's autistic but should she spell out her difficulties to make it clear? We might not get a place if there's lots on very low incomes or tick multiple boxes I guess.

She really wants to go to Exeter and is desperate to do the sheme. But is finding it hard to articulate on the form.

I’m not aware of this scheme but my dd did the Cambridge one in the summer of year 12. She is autistic, her school (for GCSE’s) was in special measures and our postcode came under a low achieving rating, this gave her 3 points on their scale, (we were middle income and both of us have degrees so no point ms from those). I’m not sure how they decide but it wasn’t oversubscribed anyway

I know we don't tick the postcode one as, although our house is ex local authority terrace-it's a mixed estate so when we look at the statistics the patch overall isn't! And she's in a Grammar School too so doesn't tick that box. She's desperate to do it but it's several days over a year and as we "only" tick one box she's worried how to fill it in. I haven't a clue!

The Cambridge one sounds fab - did she enjoy it? Will she apply?

We're going to apply this weekend. I am guessing she will need to expand on why herautism makes her an ideal candidate and what she would gain from it.

But be good to hear of anyone that knows a bit more.
