The husband and kids are off doing hobbies, so I'm having a gin and tonic watching horrible histories. It's bloody fantastic. What a brilliant programme.

Enjoy!

Pinknotpurple · 24/09/2025 19:37

Love horrible history, there's a film too i think

MouldyCandy · 24/09/2025 19:39

Love HH.
Why are the Stuarts slimy and why are the Greeks groovy?

BattenbergBollard · 24/09/2025 19:40

Have you watched Ghosts? Same cast. Loved it.

DiscoDown18 · 24/09/2025 19:55

DD20 and I (48) have watched it every night since the repeats started on BBC3. The Viking song is still my favourite.

I still can't say hear the word literally without wanting to burst into that song! It's a banger 😁
'we're tearing up this place tonight.....literalleeeeee'

I love HH (I'm 53, have watched all of them with all my dc , oldest is 23).

Best song, imo (and it is a totalear worm) is 'Do the Pachacuti ' (Incredible Incas episode). Matthew Bainton gets a lot of the best ones- his Dick Turpin is also brilliant, and his Dickens is genius.

But the whole thing os great. They all are.

Yonderland is also brilliant (same cast, but no singing). Not sure you can watch that anywhere though.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 24/09/2025 20:10

OP I am 48 and have started to watch my own TV programmes in the evenings again. I'm currently on This is us. I can also if I choose go for a walk, have a glass of wine, do an evening class or just scroll on my phone. Having older kids or teens is brilliant!

ThisCanFuckOffToo · 24/09/2025 20:12

Similar age, similar tastes 🤣

HH is magnificent tv.

Raahh · 24/09/2025 20:25

There's also a Rotten Romans film- came out just in time for DD2 to be learning about Romans at school , which was very convenient. Grin.

BellaBlister · 24/09/2025 20:54

I can't stop singing we're history. It's such a clever show. The songs are so well done. Also love ghosts, but haven't watched Bill yet so will add that to my watch list.

Oh I loved HH when dc were small, I'm going to have to add this to my list of things to watch.

MsMiniver · 24/09/2025 21:25

There’s a HH feature length special where they explain and perform opera. It’s my mum’s favourite thing she’s ever seen I think!

Love the Dick Turpin song - makes my heart flutter a bit 😅

Anyone else read that as 'horr-i-ble hist-o-rees'? We can never just say horrible histories, we have to sing it like they do too 😂 It's such a great show, even for us adults!

NeedWineNow · 24/09/2025 22:31

Me (63) and DH (71) love Horrible Histories! Our favourite is Shouty Man doing the adverts - 'Hello, I'm. Shouty Man'. The songs are brilliant and clever and it's such a great concept.

Love Yonderland and Ghosts as well.

biggestcatmom · 24/09/2025 22:48

Where can you watch HH? I think I need this in my life

@MsMiniver I hadn't realised this had been filmed! I've just looked and all the series and the Specials are on iPlayer so that will be me and DH settling down this afternoon😁
