…Which is your favourite film? Going to watch one with my adult kids this weekend. They’ve only seen Butch Cassidy…..

I like The Sting.

MemorableTrenchcoat · 23/09/2025 18:52

Three Days of the Condor.

saltysquid · 23/09/2025 18:54

Out of Africa, The way we were

Arlanymor · 23/09/2025 18:57

Barefoot in the Park. Which is unusual for
me as I don’t tend to go for romcoms.

BlueBrush · 23/09/2025 18:58

Another vote for The Sting! And you get Paul Newman too (like Butch Cassidy).

KilkennyCats · 23/09/2025 19:00

Another vote for Three days of the Condor.

Arregaithel · 23/09/2025 19:02

+1 Out of Africa

eta, All the President's Men is also very good

He was one of my teenage favourites and he made some great films. Hard to choose one, so just work through a few - Jeremiah Johnson, The Great Waldo Pepper, The Great Gatsby, Three Days of the Condor, The Horse Whisperer, The Sting and for a lovely way to start, Barefoot in the Park. Lots more, even a few fairly recent films and can't say he made any bad 'uns really. Enjoy.

Indecent Proposal

LindorDoubleChoc · 23/09/2025 19:05

Three Days Of The Condor or All The Presidents Men.

One of my claims to fame is that I have spoken to Robert Redford on the phone Grin

I’ve not seen that for a long time but it’s a great film.

The Redford film I’ve seen most recently is A Walk in the Woods, which was enjoyable once I’d got over the incongruity of him casting himself as Bill Bryson (and he’d wanted Paul Newman as Katz).

All the President's Men
Out of Africa
I thought he was v hot back in the 80s.

Another vote for Three Days of the Condor and Barefoot in the Park. Love them both.

everyoldsock · 23/09/2025 19:23

All the Presidents Men with The Way We Were a runner-up. Bought the latter today via Apple TV for the price of a coffee!

crumpet · 23/09/2025 19:23

The Sting

Uricon2 · 23/09/2025 19:25

The Great Gatsby.

All the President's Men would be a good watch with them though (you might need to explain the background!)

Zwellers · 23/09/2025 19:26

No contest The Sting. A really clever film.

The Great Gatsby and The Way We Were.

MrsSkylerWhite · 23/09/2025 19:28

Barefoot in the Park.

Pedallleur · 23/09/2025 20:08

Horse Whisperer or Way we were but what a list to choose from.

FormidableAnt · 23/09/2025 20:46

Sneakers. Also, The Hot Rock, which is hilarious.

CurlewKate · 23/09/2025 22:20

There aren’t many actors who haven’t made a really shit film….
