I was reported to the police by someone over a petty argument. Ive not been given a warning via the phone about it, I wasn’t given a chance to say my Side of events. Im hoping to work within policing in the future. Will this show up on a dbs

So you have no caution, conviction or case outstanding as a result of the situation?

The only warnings or reprimands which show up are formal ones which apply to under 18's / youth offending, they are different types of caution (youth reprimand / final warning). If you have got a YO minor they can often be contextualised and you can still work in these sorts of roles but you must declare.

If you're over 18 and have not been formally cautioned or convicted of a crime, it won't show up.

What does "Ive not been given a warning via the phone about it" mean?

You can get basic, standard and enhanced DBS checks. Enhanced checks can show "soft information" or "approved information" - basically any info the police have on you that they consider is relevant for the position the check relates to, so it can be allegations, any sort of intelligence they hold.

Dont accept a caution, you then admit the offence. Either they charge you, and you then defend yourself, or they decide not to proceed.

I wouldn’t have accepted a caution tbh as there is a reason that lead to me doing what I did and it was vey minor anyway
