Hamilton or WRU world cup final?

This Saturday I have booked to see the filmed Broadway production of Hamilton (which I have never seen) at my local cinema.

England are playing Canada in the rugby final at the same time. DH and I have been following the competition and it looks like it's going to be a great match.

I have suggested to DH that we watch the rugby on i-player when I get home but he says it's not the same as seeing it 'live' and tbh I agree with him.

So if you are both a rugby and a Hamilton fan, WWYD? I don't mind losing the price of the cinema ticket.

If you were booked to see a live show of Hamilton this would be a dilemma, but surely the rugby takes priority here. You can book again for the filmed show tickets

The World Cup! England are in the final, home final, Twickenham will be full, probably the highest attendance for a ladies rugby match. And I’ll be there too, actually going ahead of Oasis (my DS had tickets!)

I got up at silly o'clock in the morning to watch the last one. This one is at the perfect time.

Hamilton is on a few times at many places over the weekend - could you book a showing on Sunday and do both?!

Looks like the vote goes to the rugby! 🌹The film is also on on Sunday but when I originally checked the only seats available were right at the front. I checked again yesterday evening and they have put on an extra showing with lots of availability so I was able to swap to that one.

Sounds like the cinema realised that a lot of people were having the same dilemma! Good to hear that you have it sorted.

All we need now is for the Red Roses to do the biz <fingers crossed>

In case anyone is interested I thoroughly enjoyed both. The rugby was (obviously) fantastic and Hamilton was....just wow. It was quite funny seeing it in a cinema full of very white, very middle class people (myself included) struggling to understand the all the lyrics and the references - I do slightly regret not mugging up on my American history beforehand!
