Clare’s law

So. I made a Clare’s law referral about a friend I will call x. The following day x said the police had turned up at the home address to ask her if she was the one to do the Clare’s law. She said no. They asked how the relationship was. (Lied obviously) then they went back the next day to do a check on her and the day after that.
I didn’t think the police went out to the person that didn’t do the report? Or am I wrong in thinking this?

Clare Law disclosures can only be given to the person potentially at risk so they will always directly contact her, even if the application was made by a friend, family or agency. If they have anything to disclose they should meet her alone to discuss it. However, the fact that an application has been made may have raised concerns about her safety, especially if he does have a history

Ok thankyou. A social services referral has been done even though they haven’t disclosed anything to her. So I’m assuming something may be a miss. Is that correct?

A multi -agency meeting needs to take place first and then a meeting with the person at risk for them to sign the disclosure form and that is procedure.
