We are staying in Playa Blanca and will have a car. 2 adults and a dd9 and ds13. Like exploring!

The Sunday market is fun, it sells the usual crap but it’s in a lovely village with some gorgeous shops and restaurants. Also Mirador del Rio is lovely. Arreceife is also lovely - my favourite place in the canaries, there’s just something about it! Have a fabulous time

We went a day trip over to Fuerteventura from Playa Blanca

There is a lovely outdoor cinema in puerto del carmen.its called starlight cinema You sit on sofas or chairs, wear headphones ( so you can still listen to the film while you’re having a wee😀). You get blankets and there is waiter service for food and drink. It’s fab

Definitely worth the sunset dolphin cruise, we saw dozens including a mum and baby riding the waves with the boat it was amazing, we were also lucky enough to see a hammerhead shark

Papagayo Beach - it’s a national Park - v unspoiled - stunning.Thats very near you - cool spot with cafe to watch the sunset.

Go to the volcanoes - landscape to just drive through is amazing and the tour once inside is brilliant.

Then Jameos Del Agua - is one of Cesar Manriques masterpieces - absolutely wonderful. This is in the north of the island but probably only an hours drive - I would make a day of that part and go to Caleton Blanco beach - Mirador del Rio (the building inside is amazing) - and finish off at Famara beach which is incredible - the little village there is like being in an off the beaten track surfy South American place - there are only 5 or so restaurants and all are incredible.

Teguise is also up that end of the island as is Haria - these historic villages / small towns are worth seeing.

Punta Mujeres - natural sea lagoon pools in a beautiful little fishing village.
Arietta - another lagoon with a pier and a really unusual blue house , looks great in photos.
Arrecife - the salt water lagoon area which you can walk around and has restaurants all around it. Very local and authentic feeling
Playa Honda beach is cool as it’s right next to the airport and great for plane spotting , also the beach itself is really nice , has lifeguard wooden towers along it and wooden walkways etc. Very Miami Beach looking.
The north of the island is completely different scenery , the surf town of Famara Beach has stunning cliffs.
The roads on lanzarote are great , well kept , smooth and perfect for getting to the off the beaten track areas and little towns.

Another vote for Jameos del Agua. It's the opposite end of the island, so about a 1 hour drive, but you could have a good explore on the way.

It's not far from Punta Mujeres, which would be worth a detour as a PP recommends that.

Also amazing beachside restaurant in Arrietta that is a great sunset hangout on Thurs evenings - with a mojito van with music under the trees.

Great ideas, thank you! Any nice restaurants, suitable for 9vand 13 years olds. Staying near the Marina Rubicon.
