Help Me Find a Rare Rainbow Magic Book

....please 🙏

Looking for help please for any past or present parents of girls who have read/collected Rainbow Magic Books, particularly the Early Reader series.

Looking for this book in the photo. Seems to be rare as out of stock in two shops I've managed to find in a search. There's another bigger book for older girls of the same name but need to find the Early Reader one.

Daughter is collecting the set and really wants it.

Tried Vinted, Ebay, FB marketplace. Sdeconf hand shops seem to have the version for older readers with the same name. Any other book shops or second hand shops you can recommend? Or does anyone happen to have it and willing to sell?

The IBSN is 9781408354476

Many thanks in advance x

Strange, I thought I'd added it in the post. Attached now.

Hi OP, World of Books might be worth looking at, not sure about how wide the range of children's books is but I have always been very impressed with the pre owned books that I have bought from them online 🤞 for you!

We have nearly them all but not the early readers, sorry. I was hoping I could help.

Thanks but they're not the Early Reader version. This is the issue I'm having sadly.

Oh its not available, sorry.

Have you checked Abebooks, @PumpkinSpicedTea - it’s a second hand book site, and I’ve found it to be very good.

Koalaslippers · 17/09/2025 20:18

It can be time consuming but I kept looking in charity shops when I was after a particular set of the normal ones last year. I was successful in the end.

I was going to suggest similar that or check on FB marketplace to see if anyone has a bundle for sale that includes that book?

I work in a library and had a shufty through our catalogue, other authorities catalogues and book suppliers this afternoon. I strongly suspect the book was never actually published, OP. We had orders for all our libraries back in 2019 and they all got cancelled because the publication date was changed, according to the records. It’s pretty unusual that no one can find any copies anywhere at all (I tried 7 or 8 other library authorities - I was bored!) so I think it just fell off the publishers schedule for some reason - it happens sometimes.

Stichintime · 18/09/2025 21:25

If it was ever published, I think its now out of print.

This is so nice of you to do!

sc0ttishlass · 18/09/2025 21:34

Agree thats so kind @Talisin ..if thats the case you could use photo box or similar and make a book yourself using chat gpt to write a story with your daughter as one of the characters half way through as a surprise!

Talisin · 18/09/2025 21:59

Addendum: The British Library doesn’t have it listed so yeah, pretty sure it was never published.

Wow @talisin thank you so much for looking into this for me, that really is so kind. I know you say you were bored and had time but it really means a lot that you've looked. Now I have I have explanation as have been driving myself insane hunting!

I'll have a think about what to do. @sc0ttishlass thats a good idea making our own one. My daughter is quite good about things if she has an explanation so might just speak to her and show her @talisin Message.

Thanks everyone for taking time to look! Honestly there is a whole lot of these books I've found out 😂

@PumpkinSpicedTea - Great research there by @talisin , which ties in with what I subsequently read on another website .
It seems that the Alyssa story was going to be reissued as an Early Reader book, but for some reason Hachette ( the publishers) never went on to list it on their website.

PumpkinSpicedTea · 19/09/2025 20:21

Thanks again everyone. Had a chat with my daughter and she understands.
