Riveting thread i know but having still itchy sore pits from the mitchum roll on, I'm obvs not keen to use it again. However, I always found it the best deodorant so any suggestions on a similarly effective alternative?
TIA!

I have always hated Mitchum. Sure Max is the only deodorant that works for me.

I believe they have fessed up that there was a manufacturing issue with some of their latest roll ons burning everyone’s armpits. I think the other Mitchum ones - cream / gels were unaffected so you could try those?

I have switched to their stick ones (not sure that’s the right word). So far so good.

I’ve just bought a Mitchum spray deodorant instead. The itching was really awful. Will bear that Sure X one in mind as well cause I do prefer a roll on really

@MrsTaytodarling - the problem is just with certain specific batches of Mitchum, which have been recalled. I am still using Mitchum from a different batch, with no issues, so I’d say that, if you avoid the specific problem batches, you’ll be OK.

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius I have a deodorant from one of those batches- thanks for sharing. Do you know what we can do with a faulty one?

hyggetyggedotorg · 17/09/2025 19:39

DD & I both use Mitchum roll on and, thankfully, had no ill effects.

I have tried the gel one that you twist up but it doesn’t seem to give me the same protection - I still feel wiffy on a warm day.

I’m sorry, I’m afraid I don’t know, @Twilightstarbright - I’d assume you return it to the shop where you bought it.

Sorry I can’t be of more help.

I got the dried out and burned armpits from the affected Mitchum!
I had a few days break from using any deodorant at all, and just washed in the shower and moisturised the pits. Now I have a Sanex sensitive roll on that works fine and doesn’t burn.
In the past Mitchum was the only one that controlled my BO! Sanex seems promising.
