Doc Martin. There, I've said it. I think he's so dreamy. I love how anti social and awkward he is when underneath it all he really does care. I've only ever watched it this week! Got a WHOLE show to start binging on.

Ralph Touchett in James’ The Portrait of a Lady. He’s a dying American who doesn’t really do anything other than fall quietly in love with his visiting cousin, (but never tells her or expects her to reciprocate), and is a kind, humane, clever, sympathetic individual.

I Also think that even though he is a completely made up character (although based perhaps on the Moriondor) he was an interesting and complex character and one that could have gone far in that otherwise dubious show 😭

Mads Mikkelsen’s Hannibal Lecter. Utterly charming. I mean, I wouldn’t want to go to his house for dinner or anything, but I’d happily spend afternoons in a cafe or a museum or art gallery somewhere just listening to him talk.

The rest are all the cliched, strong, silent types who get up to all sorts of trouble but rein it back a bit for the love of a good woman.
