Does Gretna green do ceremony only weddings?

I can see all their packages on the website, but I’m interested in ceremony only. I’ve emailed but there are really slow to respond! They allude to ceremony only but I can’t see any details - anyone have info?! Mainly price would help! 😂
ta!

You can just get married in the registry office OP, it's not pretty but it gets the job done.

OrlandointheWilderness · 16/09/2025 12:36

Yes but I want to get married at Gretna! 😂

Yes you can, I think it says a la carte from memory. You pay for each bit separately so only book what you wanted. I got a quote for a late morning ceremony followed by 2 course lunch for just us though we didn’t choose it in the end opting for my boss (vicar) marrying us

Thank you @mamagogo1

I meant the registry office in Gretna! We married there 20+ years ago, quick ceremony with passers by for witnesses then off on honeymoon.
About as cheap as you can get 😁

Do you mean this venue? Here is their price list. www.gretnagreen.com/weddings/wedding-packages/

Gretna Green is a whole town, you could get married anywhere there in a licensed venue, for a lot less than the venue above is asking for.

OrlandointheWilderness · 16/09/2025 14:17

Yes @AzureCatsbit all of the packages include a stay etc. I want to get married in the original blacksmiths shop (I have personal reasons) and wondered if they just did the ceremony.

I got married there in July!

Got married at the Blacksmiths original venue. There are a few choices.

They also do a handfasting ceremony which isn't an official marriage.

I absolutely loved my ceremony. I went for the Gretna package and wouldn't change a thing.

You can order a physical brochure which is far more clear to understand than the website. Go for it!

I did a Sunday which us off peak.

OrlandointheWilderness · 17/09/2025 15:24

I’ve got the brochure through! It’s so much clearer than the website! Yes we want to do October/November time.
aw was it good @SliceofTosst?

It was perfect. There were a lot of marriages and a few handfastings that day but I loved seeing other couples dressed up too. There was a bride later on in all black, a couple and their children all in blue. At the Gretna Hall there was another wedding hall on the grounds with a horse and carriage wedding.

The ceremony is really short and unfussy.

We put lovelocks on the gate near the Blacksmiths and on a kissing gate in the hotel gardens.

Wouldn't change a single thing! And I love that our marriage certificate has Gretna Green on it.

You will need to be quick to get your M10 form sorted as soon as you book if you want October/November!
