Would you appeal

Where I live there is a massive upheaval with new gas pipes being laid along the whole street, we were told there would be parking restrictions and everyone has abided by these parking their cars in other streets nearby. Yesterday DH parked along the road where there were no cones showing restrictions, all good except that sometime during today new cones suddenly appeared and all the cars parked on the stretch of road have now got parking tickets! This seems so unfair as they were not there when he parked, obviously he did not take photos so cant prove it but is it worth appealing or we just suck it up and pay?

Are there parking restriction notices which say the area? Needs to be more than just cones to get a ticket.

There are signs on the street with details of the work going on and saying parking restrictions will be in place but it was only a long stretch of our road marked off with cones and barriers for the work, nothing further up where the cars were parked, half the street just moved up to where the barriers ended to park so when they suddenly extended the cones a few got caught out with tickets.

The signs should say between which houses the restrictions are and the date it applies.

Thanks, the signs don't do this, they just say work will be happening in this area on this date to that date, parking restrictions will apply and cars parked may be removed. Nothing to say which parts of the road although with the cones and plastic railings its obvious except that they have slowly moved even further along without notifying anyone that its being extended, seems unfair not to knock and warn people or pop a flyer in the letterbox to say that they are moving along to the next road and cars will need to be moved from there too.

Yes I would definitely say it’s worth an appeal then! 🤞🏽
