Preterm labour

I’m currently 33+3 and was admitted to hospital in preterm labour. They told me my cervix is very short measuring 11mm and I’ve dilated 2cm, I was given steroid injections and magnesium sulphate just incase I was to deliver my little boy so he would be protected. Has anyone else been through this & managed to get to full term? I’m worrying about any slight twinge I’m having and not been able to switch off proper for the past week, I’m exhausted. What signs should I look out for?

I had my first baby at 30 weeks. My next at 32, both for different reasons. My third I went into labour at 25 weeks, had the injections etc then went onto give birth at 37 weeks!!

All three are now strapping 6ft tall boys that eat me out of house and home.

I know it's a worry and if you had baby now they would spend time in NICU, but they will be well cared for.

As an aside, I now love the smell of hospitals as it reminds me of being there for weeks after my boys were born and how much care and support I got.

Sorry I didn't answer your question. You will just know when you are in labour. It's hard to describe, but it's unmistakable when it happens. Each starts differently, but with one it was back pain that kept waking me up in the night. With the next it was sudden sharp contractions. You really need to rest, I know how stressful it is, but it is not going to be stopped by anxiety.
