Anyone working in Payroll?

I saw a job which is an entry-level admin payroll job. I feel a bit scared to apply for it as I don't have payroll experience.

It says on the job advert that they will train me. I am currently doing a CIPD HR course online- I am not sure if this will help me in doing the payroll job well?

Is working in Payroll difficult?

Payroll isn’t difficult but it requires attention to detail and the absolute understanding of how important deadlines are. In my organisation payroll tends to be part of the HR function in that we enter new starter information into the database, including hourly rate, holiday taken, pay rises, and then payroll pick it up on their end.
