Help me pick some flags

I live on a multicultural town and lots of people are feeling pretty down about the flag shaggers. I'm ordering a bunch of flags for a well-priced bridge. So far, I've got:

  • Union
  • England
  • Scotland
  • Wales
  • Northern Ireland
  • UN
  • EU
  • Suffragette

And these to represent the town's makeup:

  • Ukraine
  • Ireland
  • Poland
  • Lithuania
  • Jamaica
  • St Lucia
  • Trinidad and Tobago
  • Pakistan
  • India
  • Bangladesh
  • Somalia
  • Zimbabwe
  • Nigeria

I need 30 total. Any other good ones?

I’d be interested to know what flag you ordered for Northern Ireland as they don’t officially have one other than the union flag….

FellowSuffereroftheAbsurd · 13/09/2025 16:06

It's likely you town and/or county has a flag, as will some local sporting clubs.

CatHugger · 13/09/2025 16:29

St. Patrick's Cross for NI. Is that ok or politically controversial?

Local sports teams are a great shout.

Rainbow flag?

MrsMoastyToasty · 13/09/2025 16:35

Local school emblems
County flags or coat of arms
NHS

CatHugger · 13/09/2025 16:43

I can't find an NHS flag. I've added a rainbow flag though. The original one.

I would add the Star Wars rebel alliance flag, just to see if anyone notices 😂. It signifies hope and renewal.

Gladysknightjustwalkinmyshoes · 13/09/2025 16:50

Jolly roger ☠️

SparklyBrickViper · 13/09/2025 16:58

County Flag?
Saint Piran's Flag?
flag of Saint David?

EmeraldRoulette · 13/09/2025 17:13

Can I ask how you've found your data about those countries please? Thank you.

Mrsmunchofmunchington · 13/09/2025 17:16

I think humour deflates hysteria so the jolly roger or the rebel alliance are excellent suggestions.
I will admit a secret temptation to go out at night removing any other flags in the vicinity but that would be counter productive.

The Big Bang apartment flag, hung upside down

Fun with Flags with Sheldon cooper and Amy Farah Fowler..I loved those ones 😍

hhtddbkoygv · 14/09/2025 02:59

You need a license for the rainbow flag.

Does there need to be any more England flags?

I don't think you do anymore...

I was referring to the progress pride flag unless pp meant a literal rainbow flag.

Greyhoundmad83 · 14/09/2025 03:48

So you're allowed to also be a 'flag shagger' but it's only acceptable if they are the flags of other countries?

xanthomelana · 14/09/2025 05:24

“Any other good ones?”
What makes a “good” flag OP? The purpose of a flag is about identity so surely just put up whatever you identify with?

Ballywas · 14/09/2025 05:33

Northern Ireland competes under the Ulster Banner - see here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Northern_Ireland

St Patrick’s Cross would not be generally recognised as the flag of NI.

The situation re flags in Northern Ireland is massively contentious.

A peace symbol flag

I'm in England, so the Union Flag and St George's Cross are my flags.
