Does it rain a truly ridiculous amount in Dublin?

I do know that Ireland is generally a wet country. But literally every time I look on the rain radar, to see where the showers are in Britain, I notice there's a heavy RED amount of rain showing right over Dublin. This is the sort of intensity of rain that would cause flooding in a couple of hours in my area of England. I just don't understand how it is possible for it always to be absolutely hammering it down, specifically in Dublin, even compared with the rest of Ireland.

I just looked at it now and it’s not raining in Dublin.

Dublin is one of the driest parts of Ireland - it rains a lot from Cork in the South around the West coast, with Mayo and further north still getting a lot but a bit less. Not only has the rain petered out as it comes across the land mass of Ireland, the clouds have to rise up over the Dublin and Wicklow mountains, so it rains there a lot and there’s often not a lot left when the clouds reach Dublin itself.

Not compared to the rest of Ireland, no.

That's what I didn't understand. It should be the west that's wettest. I'm wondering whether the radar isn't updated for ROI or something. It just never seems to change.

What radar are you looking at?
The UK Met Office rainfall radar seems fine. Dublin isn’t showing as red.
