Household appliance appreciation

I had a day off today, and was up early to walk the dog, change the beds and get DCs to school. When I came home it was raining so once the washing machine and dishwasher were on, I started the robot hoover and mop and went to bed for a nap (perimenopause hates me, and hates me most at night so any chance of a nap is very welcome).

When I woke up...... Clothes, dishes and floors were clean and dry and my house smelled fresh. It's not an overreaction to say it put me in a glow and made me think how hard our grannies had it between slaving over sinks and mops. So.... What do you have in your house you really appreciate (obviously not people/pets)

Disclaimer - I know it's lucky and privileged to have electricity/money to pay the bill/non essentials like a robot mop but it's been a shit time and I'm coming out the other side and trying to enjoy life

Sounds like you made the most of your day off! Certainly earned that nap.
Appreciate lots of things but my dishwasher I’d say. Had one for years but just downsized and didn’t have one. Back to washing up aaargh.
Shiny new integrated slimline one just been installed in my new fitted kitchen. Looking forward to using it.
Sorry you’ve had a bad time.

I work from home and often marvel that I sit at my desk while the washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and slow cooker take care of the chores. My great granny would have loved such luxuries.

I also appreciate my blender as it effortlessly creates my breakfast smoothie and my new find - my omelette maker. I am a really good cook but cannot for the life of me make an omelette. But this little £5 Facebook marketplace find has transformed my lunchtimes.

Also, don't know if this counts as an appliance but..my kindle.

If it broke I would be ordering a replacement within the minute. All those books at my fingertips!

I forgot about my kindle! I took mine with me to get nap ready!

I have finally mastered omelettes on the hob, after years of disasters and disappointments. I need a realllllllly hot non stick pan, and plenty of patience so I don't flip too early and end up with scrambled eggs

I hope it brings you years of joy! And clear, sparkling glasses ☺️☺️ Sometimes I wash up in the sink and I begrudge every second

Appreciation here for :
DW - when it's out of action I;m counting the days . DH usually washes up but then there's loads of dishes jenga-ed on the draining board
WM- 12kg drum , love it !
Shark Stratos vacuum, I can see the cannister fill with the cats'fur and dust . Pleasing if gruesome .
Joseph&Joseph rice cooker -not an appliance but goes in the microwave and makes perfect rice
Breadmaker - nothing more to add , who doesn't love a fresh baked loaf

The Eufy robot vac I hate with a passion. It sets off on its path after I've used the Shark , faffs about then announces it is done and goes back to dock . And it ploughed through a load of regurgitated cat foot under the bed which was not fun to clean .

Good idea OP, thanks. I particularly appreciate my solar panels when I can do all of the above during the day for free! (Well the water costs pennies on my meter I suppose but I'm also grateful for clean water out of the tap, given our ancestors had to haul it about!)
