Something to watch with dd12 tonight

As title says. Wanting something new to watch with DD tonight. Rather a movie as don’t have time to invest in a series unless it’s short. She’s quite mature - limited to Netflix, prime or tv players as can’t get Disney or sky to work. She loves mean girls, pitch perfect etc but she has a habit of watching things on repeat. Never want to see friends or young Sheldon again as a result 😅.

Dead boy detectives, heartstopper or wednesday may be ideal.

Kpop Demon Hunters. I've watched it by myself and loved it (I'm a 39-year-old, professional mother of one and I don't care if anyone judges me). Sadly my DD is too young at 6 for it but at 12 (even a mature 12) would enjoy it

I’m not judging you - I finally watched it (DD’s third viewing) and loved it!! And I’m 54! But I do also love Stray Kids (a Kpop boy band) so I have form 🤣🤣🤣

Taskmaster ( bleeped version).

I’ve tried for k pop demon hunters. I work in primary 2 and play the songs in the playground but she says no 🙈😆

Stranger things.

I’ve already watched stranger things with dd1 when she was just a little bit older. It’s long though. We definitely don’t have the time to put in to it currently 😆.

Damn.

Does she like Studio Ghibli? My Neighbour Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away?

Ddakji · 12/09/2025 20:13

I think everyone has seen the word series in your OP and not spotted that you don’t want to watch a series, btw!

Blackberryjammin · 12/09/2025 20:14

I watched The Woman in Black with my dd the other day as she'd read it at school. She hasn't really watched anything scary before and it does have some gore and jump scares but she enjoyed clinging to my arm.

MrsTerryPratchett · 12/09/2025 20:14

Miss Congeniality. Or Pitch Perfect again. We’re watched it about 40 times and are now word-perfect.
