Migraine and binge eating

Does anybody else get the urge to binge eat before and/or after a migraine? Over days, like a build up and then a come down?

Yep! This was exactly me yesterday. Could not stop shoveling food in my mouth, the unhealthier and carbier the better!!

Yes me too! It’s disgusting what I’ve eaten all week and I’ve gone mad on custard creams and tubs of ice cream today

Yup. I just can't stop eating sugary carby foods when getting a migraine. I think blood sugar must drop.

Just popped on to say I read that as "minge eating".

As you were.

If only, less calories

Yes I do and I can't seem to stop. There's a massive come down afterwards and the "I'm never eating sweet stuff again." Until the next time...

In all seriousness, I’m worried that I’ll have put on an awful amount of weight. I started craving sugar about three days before the migraine and ate a lot the day before. Then it hit and was BAD. The day after and today I have eaten an insane amount of calories. Like I couldn’t stop. I still don’t feel right. Hoping I’m back to normal tomorrow and can do some damage control

When I was doing Slimming World years ago, I realised that I binge on carbs and protein when I feel a migraine coming on. I think it is partly low blood sugar but also the dopamine hit from the food rush helps lift the headache a little bit.
