DVLA Anyone trying to get licence back?

DH returned his driving licence on medical grounds. Matter resolved and he is eligible to get his licence back. We applied back in June, as were advised that we could apply 8 weeks before eligible date to allow for processing but his application is still in the system. Does anyone have any experience? Are they really behind at the moment?

Mine took almost 6 months to come back!

It took months for my father to get his back after he’d been signed off as ok. Sympathies, but all you can do is keep contacting and writing.

Oh gawd. We've rung twice. Hadn't thought of writing. Any suggestions of what to write?

I’ve written to the DVLA before. It ended up being such a pain in the arse. 🤦🏻‍♀️
And what made it worse was that it was their fuck up.
