that cars have bushes??

I certainly did not, until I took my MiL's car in for its MOT yesterday, and was told it needed new "bushes".
I felt very stupid because I kept repeating "brushes?" and they very kindly replied, every time "No. Bushes".
Who knew! (Something to do with the suspension I've since learnt).

Do you have any newly acquired knowledge to share?

I have just googled it: their alternative name is suspension bushes and they are basically shock absorbers.
So thanks OP for adding that bit of knowledge to my life!

Yes but only because it appeared on my MOT a few years ago too.

Yes but only because both my OH and myself are classic car nuts and over the years we have tackled most jobs between us, he with his Land Rovers and me with my MG's.
My Polo is having new suspension bushes next week (going into the garage though).

Bushes are usually rubber or polyurethane.😉

Yep, I've had many a car fail it's MOT due to bushes!
