Piercing healing advice

Sorry posting here for traffic rather than piercing topic - if there even is one!

I got my 3rd lobe piercings in May and they’re STILL bleeding and itchy! So annoying! One I thought was finally healed and fine until this week it’s started bleeding again. Other one has never been right.

Needle piercing by lovely piercer lady who has said to keep up the 2x a day saline, dry them, and come back for aftercare appt if still bad. But I really have no time to physically go to an appt so thought I’d ask for any tips here? TCP is my thought, but I don’t want to reek!

Labret earrings which I’ve never had before but actually love, if they actually heal!

Same thing happened with cartilage and nose piercings - eventually just took them out. So think I’m generally a slow healer?

Do you have a nickel allergy? That's the most common cause of irritation such as you describe. If you're not sure, try changing it out for jewellery made of stainless steel or titanium. Wildcat are good for this.

Thanks @PsychoSyd I’m pretty sure she said these were titanium but maybe I should buy some more to be sure. As far as I know I don’t have a nickel allergy but it would explain it. Although I think these aren’t nickel.

You could try taking out the labrets, and give the piercings a really good clean with saline. Then replace the labrets with plain gold studs if you have them (or stainless steel or titanium as pp said).

Leave them alone as much as you can. I wouldn't do the twice daily saline, just remove studs and give the piercings a good clean once a week. In my experience they heal better the less you mess with them. Oh, and don't twist the studs, it'll slow down the healing.

I have 2nd and 3rd lobes that have been slowly healing since February. I did change mine for different titanium ones but not sure that helped. Still getting a bit crusty. I was advised on here to leave them the hell alone!

Definitely stop the saline, it’s the continuous wetness that means they’re not healing. Give them one really good clean, including taking the bars out and cleaning them, then just leave them alone. Dry them with the cool setting on your hairdryer after your shower. Don’t fiddle with them.

Thanks guys! Had them out all day today so holes could properly have a rest and dry out. Cleaned earrings. Just put back in so at least didn’t close up! Itchy right away so we’ll see…. Will try not to touch. But if they’re bleeding, for example now as jusy reinserted… should I just leave it to bleed?? Feels wrong!

I wouldn't have left them out all day
Maybe you need a different metal if your ears are itching
