How would this request go down in your household right now?

Our little next-door neighbour just knocked and asked, and got given a brand new stick.
Just wondering how you would fare in the emergency pritt stick scenario?
Do you have any to hand?
Luckily for NDN child, this being the start of a new school year, our stationery supplies have been very recently freshly replenished!
Had it been a couple of months ago, I think we'd be hard pushed to find a dried up empty stick between us 😄

They only had packs of three Pritt Sticks when I went to get my son one, so we're luxuriating in two spare at the moment.

Rug is 12ft x 10ft but cake is a Taste the Difference triple chocolate muffin. You are on your way already, arent you?

Oh. Err... that's rather big, I mean oh dear I think it's way past my bedtime 😳

I have several of America’s favourite Elmer’s Glue Sticks. Amongst many other glues.

And a laminater.

Hahaha, the DCs hate it when they need something laminating, because I, for reasons unknown, go around in my best Arnie voice saying "I am the laminator" 😆

EVERY. TIME.

I can throw a couple of bottles of Tippex into the ring, if that's any help, and some treasury tags I found at the back of a drawer, but can't bring myself to throw them out, because I must have bought them for A Reason. I just don't know what the reason might have been, but I am certain that the second I chuck them, The Reason will become abundantly clear.

Also have some Elmer's glue left over from slime making.

FurForksSake · 08/09/2025 22:03

I have ten 4 in 1 pens, favoured by the secondary age child.

i also buy HB pencils and black biros in big boxes as I swear they get eaten.

I have a laminator and a paper cutter (guillotine). They are ridiculously useful. Oh and two types of label maker! The old fashioned one which makes the satisfying embossed letters and the one that prints the letters on the tape.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 08/09/2025 22:03

I bought a box of 24 Pritt sticks a few years ago. I have 3 left. DS has just left school. So yes, i could furnish a request for Pritt.

Goodideaornot · 08/09/2025 22:03

I’ve got a brand spanking new set of 5, so plenty to spare 😇

FancyCatSlave · 08/09/2025 22:05

I have an almost 6 year old and we have every craft item every invented in triplicate. I have enough pritt sticks and pva glue including the glitter variety to stick assorted card from here to Australia.

And I thought I was good, with my stapler, post-it’s selection and extra effective hole puncher. Laminator AND guillotine. Hats off indeed

wakemeupwhenseptembercomes · 08/09/2025 22:07

Funnily enough had a clear out today and found 2 brand new ones!

TubeScreamer · 08/09/2025 22:10

I always have a stash of them. My children seemed to get through them at a staggering rate in their earlier stages of secondary school, so I always kept spares. Also set squares and protractors.

newrubylane · 08/09/2025 22:17

We probably have one somewhere but it would take me a while to locate!

Backtoschooltime · 08/09/2025 18:57

I have a cupboard of replacement pens and pritt-stick as the DC give me no warning and they get negative marks if they don’t have the right equipment at secondary school.

Same here!

BogRollBOGOF · 08/09/2025 22:39

My stationery supplies have out-lasted WHSmith and Staples.

I've even still got pockets from Woolworths.

Industrial hole punches, guillotines, laminators, paper fasteners, treasury tags, label printers, circle stensils...

Glue sticks are for ameteurs Grin

vipersnest1 · 08/09/2025 22:39

I have a few glue sticks, eleven corrector tapes, very, very many highlighters, hole reinforcers, sharpies, marker pens (whiteboards for the use of) and their refill inks, several pairs of scissors, two spare computer keyboards, at least two presenters / clickers, hole punchers (including several differently shaped ones), a paper cutter, two webcams, lots of post it notes and flags in various forms (including tracing paper ones - genius invention) and other things that I can’t remember…..
Can you tell I’ve just retired as a teacher? 😁

OliveHenry · 08/09/2025 22:51

I've got way too much stationery - too many trips to French supermarkets in summer holidays!

But my favourite gadget is am electric comb binder. It's even more fun to use than a laminator!

Bastards have stopped doing the lemon ones No idea why as they were THE best.

That should have had a trigger warning!!

The culprit is now 20, but the mention of bloody Elmer's still brings me out in hives.

Dontsayyouloveme · 08/09/2025 23:04

I’ve three unopened new Pritt Sticks! I’ve three brand new 30cm rulers, all manner of Bic biros, new pencils, 2 helix tins with compasses, set square and stuff in. I go a bit mad when the supermarkets have their back to school stationery half price offers. The rulers tbf were only 20p each instead if £1 and its only a matter of time until my son snaps his current one! I do also love stationery 📖🗂️🗄️

Omg hole reinforcer rings! Forgotten about those….. that takes me back!!

zippydeedoo · 08/09/2025 23:08

I could probably offer a tube of no nails? Or whisk up some glue using flour and water 😂

HowDairy · 08/09/2025 23:17

Laminators!
Guillotines!
Multiple hole punchers!
Punched holes reinforcement rings!
Treasury tags!
Fancy schmancy scissors!
Chocolate chip muffins and Big Pack of Maryland cookies!

This thread has everything - you lot really are the best!
I knew I could rely on you all 😂

This is the first year since 2003 that I haven’t had to buy school supplies. In spite of telling DD last year I wanted to use up our stash we still have:

3 huge pritt sticks, unused
Three rolls of gaffer tape, 2 rolls of masking tape
20 assorted Bic pens
Pencils galore
3 different sizes of stapler and relative staples
2 sellotape dispensers and 4 small rolls of tape
A 4-hole and several 2-hole punches
2 unused reams of printer paper
A full set of technical drawing equipment including a 60 cm ruler, professional compass and massive set squares
A box of binder clips
A drawer full of transparent pockets
And what looks like a cube of unused A4 exercise books.

We also have a comb binder machine and all the supplies to make music photocopies into usable scores.

Crispynoodle · 08/09/2025 23:50

Yup Teacher I always have glue and various crafting items at hand

BloodandGlitter · 08/09/2025 23:53

I have a ring binding machine I can throw in, 2 cricuts and about a million stickers. I craft, well enjoy the possibilities of what I can craft by hoarding supplies.
