How would this request go down in your household right now?

Our little next-door neighbour just knocked and asked, and got given a brand new stick.
Just wondering how you would fare in the emergency pritt stick scenario?
Do you have any to hand?
Luckily for NDN child, this being the start of a new school year, our stationery supplies have been very recently freshly replenished!
Had it been a couple of months ago, I think we'd be hard pushed to find a dried up empty stick between us 😄

I can offer you a long arm, a compact or a Japanese paperless stapler.

Shall we move on to why anyone needs multiple hole punches including the ones where two are joined together? The 8 protractors I have just purchased? The 10 exercise books?

I seem to have lost the stationery plot.

RNApolymerase · 08/09/2025 20:32

Yes, I bought some in the middle of Lidl the other day because we'd run out.

Thanks all! You're a generous lot!
Think I'm alright for glue sticks now.
Does anyone have a stapler though? 😄

Ooh, yes. You can borrow my stapler. And it’s even got staples in!

Kangarude · 08/09/2025 20:34

It’s in the same cupboard as the crap Pritt stick, the paperclips and drawing pins Halo

HumerousHumous · 08/09/2025 20:35

No, don’t have one. All I’d be able to offer the child would be a hot glue gun 🔥.

OhNoNotSusan · 08/09/2025 20:35

if i could find it

olderbutwiser · 08/09/2025 20:36

I can offer you a 4-hole hole punch and a box of treasury tags.

Nameeechanged · 08/09/2025 20:36

I’ve just bought a pack of 10 for the start of term - down to 7 already (only 1 child needs them so not sure how 😂)

limescale · 08/09/2025 20:38

I’ve got a roll of those polo shaped reinforcements stickers to stick on the holes of A4 paper. Bought in the 90s and kept “just in case”

deeahgwitch · 08/09/2025 20:39

I’d say “Yes, certainly. Do you need BluTack too ? Or double sided sticky tape ?”

itsgettingweird · 08/09/2025 20:39

Yep I could begrudgingly open my school supplies bag.

However they are like gold dust in school so I’d have to really like NDN child 🤣

JustLookingThanks · 08/09/2025 20:44

I have a green one, about 4 or 5 years old, genuine pritt stick, sticky still but dries green, so will likely have it for several more years. Available for desperate next door neighbours but I think the fact that it dries green it will be rejected. 🐸

@MaMisled hmmm...how big is the rug and would you throw in a cake as well?😉

Rug is 12ft x 10ft but cake is a Taste the Difference triple chocolate muffin. You are on your way already, arent you?

caringcarer · 08/09/2025 21:24

I have a jumbo pritt stick, rubber, pencil sharpener, board marker pens, ruler, pens, zig zag scissors and many mini white boards.

FurForksSake · 08/09/2025 21:28

I have a carousel of scissors that cut different patterns 😆

Sunnydayze43 · 08/09/2025 21:28

I have one in my stationary drawer that has to have been in there for at least 8 years.
I so very seldom use it now but I have done and all I do is take a sharp knife and cut off a very thin piece of the stick and it's as good as new.
Probably better quality than they make today!
I also have two staplers! It pays to be prepared! 😆

TroysMammy · 08/09/2025 21:33

I've got a well stocked craft room so yes I do and ribbons and inks and pretty paper an d double sided tape and glue dots and glitter, hell I could give Hobbycraft a run for their money.

I like your (stationery) style!

Ineffable23 · 08/09/2025 21:39

I have an entire bag of glues. It's one of the things that makes me feel like a proper grown up. You can have print, uhu, contact adhesive, araldite, super glue, or one of a variety of tapes for good measure: double sided sticky tape, sellotape, or those foam sticky pads.

BloodandGlitter · 08/09/2025 21:40

I have about 8 different glues Blush they could happily have one of the many pritt sticks.

FurForksSake · 08/09/2025 21:40

@MotherofPearl I’ve just written a shopping list using a tombow Japanese calligraphy pen 😆we shan’t judge the content of the list.

Hello! Do you have a pritt stick I could borrow please?
maxisback · 08/09/2025 21:43

Yes because the other day I found 2 brand new pritt sticks when I was tidying the junk drawer. Prior to that no because I had no idea they existed.

UtterlyOtterly · 08/09/2025 21:44

limescale I still use those regularly. I hate punched holes getting torn.

Yes, I can do Pritt Sticks in two different sizes as well as a whole range of other stationery related stuff.

OldYorkMum · 08/09/2025 21:47

I have several of America’s favourite Elmer’s Glue Sticks. Amongst many other glues.

And a laminater.
