Im travelling to Paris for a day trip and will be getting around on the metro I think. I want to plan ahead so I look like I know what Im doing, but everything I've read so far confuses me about what I need to buy for a day ticket.

Can anyone help?

I used a Navigo pass. Bought it from a metro ticket office and topped it up at ticket machines. I think it was good for some buses but I can’t remember. www.ratp.fr/en/titres-et-tarifs/one-day-navigo-travel-card

V jealous by the way. Where are you going in Paris?

If you have an iPhone you can go into your wallet and got to travel cards. Lots of different ones appear by country. Go to France and the navigo pass will appear. You can buy it straight from there and then just use your phone on the barriers on the metro.
We were there in July and it was great - I felt like a local! We bought a ticket to use on the train from the airport and then a set of 10 tickets to use to get around the city on the metro.

Have a great time - Paris is wonderful!

There’s a really great YouTube video by a guy explaining travel in Paris. Make sure it is the recent one as the ticketing system changed relatively recently. We watched it and were then totally confident and had a great travel time early in the sunmer. It was much better than other advice we found and we just used an app on our phone which was more efficient and better than buying the ‘top up card’ that is promoted on the Eurostar.

I never knew that! Thank you so much @beewonderful! That’ll make our upcoming trip much easier than fumbling around with paper tickets.

Just be extremely careful with your bags as the metro is rife with pickpockets particularly children. We were targeted but thankfully they didn’t get anything as a French woman warned us. We weren’t the only ones that were targeted though
