Does anyone know about digital writing tablets?

I went to a conference recently, and a woman in my row took all her notes on a little black tablet. It wasn't an iPad or that sort of tablet - she was handwriting on it with a digital pen. I've had a little google and they seem to cost anything from $30 to $30000000!! I was wondering about getting one for my daughter who is away at university. Are the cheap ones pointless? Are the expensive ones good? Anyone got any experience?

I saw someone with one recently too and was really intrigued!

I’ve been thinking about getting one for work and ReMarkable are well thought of, I had a play with one in Curry’s and it was good.

do ask your Dd if she would use it though. Lots of students use iPads or laptops in lectures as they can have the PowerPoint for the lecture open and make notes on the PowerPoint as they go along. Ask her what she’s doing at the minute

I have a Remarkable and it’s fantastic. Expensive but worth it (to me).

I am really tempted by a Remarkable. A colleague has one and it's brilliant.
Expensive for something that in my world will end up being a fad for me coz I have no discipline.
Another colleague has just got a kindle one off ebay. He's bringing it in on Tuesday so i can try it out.
If I could get my IT team to let me link it to OneNote/MS to do i would have one in a heartbeat

I have had a remarkable for two years. It is great. I am writing but also digital.

I’ve had both a ReMarkable and liked it but (annoyingly*) Amazon Scribe is even better at transcribing my awful handwriting and also works as a very big kindle.

Remarkable seems to be the good brand. I'm going to pop into a shop and have a play.

I have a remarkable and I love it. I tried the Lenovo one prior to that and sent it back.
