Hi
wondered if anyone has flown both airlines and can let me know who you would pick for a 10 ish hour flight? They are exactly the same price and pretty much the same time.
it would be economy on either airline.
Ive never flown long haul before!
thank you.

I preferred TUI, the seat pitch seemed slightly bigger but that could just be me. Tbh there’s not much difference in both, I just usually pick TUI because they have a better selection of hotels when booking as a package.

I flew with both last year and not much between them. I was surprised by BA as I thought they wouldn't be very good but they were brilliant with lovely staff and they employ older cabin crew who were really attentive. Both fine though and the food is edible too.

I think we got extra 3KG baggage allowance with BA but please check

BA were great when I did a long haul flight recently. I’ve never flown TUI though so can’t compare.

Presumably the flights go between the same airport pair (with LGW at one end?), otherwise there are a lot of variables to consider.

BA because their hand luggage is so generous.

BA

I’ve done both. TUI only once. Always BA which is great when you factor in a companion flight once a year and use a f Avios. Always manage premium economy and sometimes business class for the night flight. Baggage allowance is great.

We flew BA our last long haul flight earlier this year, it was the worst long haul flight I've ever been on - although it was my first since covid. The seat in front was so close that it was ridiculous, there was no foot rest, under seat storage for bags didn't line up so in the middle of where I wanted to put my bag was the leg of the seats in front. It was just fortunate the person next to me didn't want to put their bag under the seat.

I actually preferred the Tui flight we went on - but it was just before covid so a while ago. Mind there was a hurricane around and we had to drop a bit so there were people throwing up and crying - so not exactly great!

TBH though I'd just go for the one that is cheapest. There's not enough between then to pay more for one than the other.

I've had awful experiences long haul with BA but that was 10 years back so maybe they've improved by comments on here. TUI long haul has been fine, but overall I prefer Virgin!
