Trouble getting shoes

Needed some school shoes today
Got measured
We literally tried on every shoe in her size that there was in town apart from brogues and slip ons.
None of them were right on her she said. The ones in the actual shoe shop were uncomfy at the end and squeezed her toes she said.
Every other shoe tried on wasn't right, either fell off, not tight enough, not comfy, again not comfy at the ends, felt like they were going to rub etc
It was only in literally the last shop that we found some she found comfy and that fit her.

This happens every time and she finds it very stressful, shoes

Does this happen to anyone else? Is this a sensory thing?

I can try on 20 pairs until I find a comfy pair.

My feet are pretty sensitive. .I find walking on gritty sand painful and as for a pebbly beach. I hated indoor PE where ewe had to beb barefoot. The sensation of climbing bars/parallel bars, etc, was excruciating.

Generally I'm pretty tough.

Interesting

I have wondered about some sensory stuff with her before, I guess that's why I just wonder

She didn't always used to be so bad about shoes but it's been like this the last couple of years

Does she have narrow feet? Or wide/high instep? Or is it just how the shoes feel?

I wonder if looking for barefoot shoes might suit her? No idea if they're easy to find on a regular high street. They have a wider toe box and are flexible rather than stiff.

I really struggle to get shoes to fit me, I get so frustrated. I have wide feet. Bought a new pair of wide fit trainers for work recently but they rub my toes ever so slightly. I'm going to buy myself a pair of barefoot trainers next. Some friends have them and swear by them. I will actually cry if they're no good.

I don't think she has particularly narrow feet and no one's said anything about any instep before.

Think it's just how the shoes feel

Interesting idea about barefoot shoes

I'd have to order online which is risky...
