It was a few days ago. She was 19 but I still feel gutted. How do you get over it after so many years of having her? I think she decided it was her time.

So sorry, one of ours died a few weeks ago, he was 16. I think he also died it was time, ate his breakfast, went to lie down in DH office and was gone.

were you with your kitty?

I’m so sorry. What a wonderfully long life. You were the best and kindest friend. It’s crap being an adult sometimes.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 01/09/2025 19:16

I'm very sorry @Luluissleeping that's very hard to deal with.
Pets are family members and it's awful when they die.

I'm sorry Flowers. I lost one of my cats 3 years ago, he was only 8yo. I'm still heartbroken about it tbh. 😕

I am so sorry it is so hard to lose a beloved pet. Your cat will always be in your heart and your memories.

Grief is the price we pay for love 😢

You must have looked after her well to have achieved such a good age, she landed on her feet with you. It's very hard, you don't forget the ones who have gone before

Rightandwrong · 01/09/2025 20:20

Oh I'm so sorry OP.
You must be devastated.
She had a good long life. She will always always live on in your heart.

I'm sorry too, I'd love to hear more about her. I had a boy cat, he was very loving and absolutely beautiful.

Oh I'm so sorry@Luluissleeping you must be so very sad. 19 years... What a good life she had with you, you've been friends for a long time.
The thing that has always struck me when one of my cats died was how quiet the house was.
It's not that our cats are noisy, it's just knowing that they were there made the house feel less empty, and yes less quiet somehow.
I have two very close friends who both lost their dear cats this summer, one was 16 the other was 19 and both are grieving them still.
Be kind to yourself, allow yourself to grieve because you can't hurry the process, the upset to routine and the sadness are very real. X
