I've noticed on here that a lot of users appear to be...
Richer than average
Taller than average
Have tall kids
Maybe a little anxious ??

Silly thread. There are thousands and thousands of posters on Mumsnet, so they will be all different heights/levels of wealth etc.

KateMiskin · 01/09/2025 11:52

Often misanthropic and of the view that friendships cause drama.

MorrisZapp · 01/09/2025 11:53

Very involved with their inlaws

Agree, a lot seem to be miserable old women living lonely lives, who appear to love to inflict their miserable comments on others.

Also there are others that clearly make up stories to suit add ‘value’ to their opinions.

IMO I don’t know why I waste my time on this, I have only been on it a few months and it certainly has more of a negative vibe than anything else.

I think you can be anyone you want to be on an anonymous online forum. I think some posters have created the life they want rather than the reality.

TyroleanKnockabout · 01/09/2025 11:59

Well I’m a short, skint childless student but I suppose that’s just anecdotal evidence. Grin I am a bit anxious!

Oh I didn't mean that! I love MN. Been here for years and it's made me laugh a lot, as well has given me a lot of support.
I just think it has more than its fair share of extreme loners, but that is probably all of the net.

K0OLA1D · 01/09/2025 12:00

I'm tall, with tall kids but absolutely skint.

FuzzyWolf · 01/09/2025 12:00

I think it has a lot of people passing the time because they have little else to do.

I think in a lot of cases it’s just an excellent procrastination tool (as is all social media). I’m writing this instead of an essay.

HansHolbein · 01/09/2025 12:15

Most of it is made up bollocks.

I agree with you. I should really be doing a whole load of other things but I’ve always been a chronic procrastinator and forums or social media just make it worse.

I think it’s an intelligent, educated demographic overall. I’ve been in and am in other parenting fora and the level of discussion is lighter and posts not written with the same attention to detail.

dizzydizzydizzy · 01/09/2025 12:27

I'm tall and very anxious. DC1 is exceptionally tall and not anxious. DC2 is above average height but not particularly tall but incredibly anxious.

I've had a lot of rude comments on here - mainly relating to immigration and neurodivergence.

CeciliaDuckiePond · 01/09/2025 12:28

Nope, average height 5'4, average income, no children. I'm quite anxious but I think that's more common than not to be in 2025.

You might not believe this @OnetwoThree123456 but back in the day this place used to be quite fun and I'd come on to cheer myself up!
