When did you get your DC’s first shoes

When did you all get your LO’s first shoes. My older DC I got around the time of their first birthday after they’d started walking. DC3 is 7 months and a friend in our NCT class has a DD born a few days before DC and got her DD measured and fitted with shoes already despite not walking yet. Should I be doing it sooner too? I’m aware the colder months are coming and DC does go to nursery now where they will still do outdoor play etc if it’s a little wet so that’s what’s making me think shall I go sooner?

I waited until walking and just used thick socks/tights in the cold until then

My son walked at 15 months but didn't really walk much outside for a while so I didn't feel like he needed shoes right away. He got his first proper pair at about 18 months when he was walking confidently.

I'd never put shoes on if baby not walking yet- surely it would hinder their initial learning, and they'd feel heavy?

I just used the first shoes when my littles went outside and were walking

I've just got DS his first prewalker shoes at 10m old, he's standing but not walking. Partly it's because the floor is damp and muddy now in the parks and I don't want him barefoot anymore when cruising around outside. Also I remember when DD started nursery in autumn before she started walking they asked for some shoes for her. So I figure we'll need to buy some soon anyway.

From when they would be likely to be walking outside.

Obviously the ages each of them started walking was different.

I may get some sock shoe type things or leather socks for outdoor play at nursery but I think it’s mainly the older kids that are outside in all elements at her nursery but I think I’ll go with my mum gut and will leave taking her to Clark’s until she’s started walking and ready for prewalkers

He started walking at 16m, but I couldn't buy him proper shoes/ wellies until he reached size 3 a few months later which was somewhat awkward during an exceptionally soggy summer.

13/14 months, once walking properly.

Eldest 2 dcs prob around a year or under despite then not walking .
Dc3 was walking at 9 months so shortly after that.
Dc4 was 18m , due to lock down and show shop being closed and wanted the measure to be done
