If a child was dropped at yours, would you (you have to pick one)

Child is dropped at yours to play with your children. Child has nits, but parent doesn’t tell you beforehand. Parent casually mentions it at pick-up. When you say she should have let you know, she says she didn’t think it was a big deal, some children won’t even know they have nits yet and besides, schools allow children to go with nits and there’ll probably be someone in their classes with nits anyway. What would you think?

a) WTF?

b) Good point.

c) Both.

d) Something else.

If the parent isn’t taking active steps to eliminate the nits then she is neglectful as well as unreasonable

Oh primary school days. We used to but comb on a Wednesday and Sunday night pretty much on the regular for y3/4/5. It was a nightmare with a few parents not keeping on top of it.

I was a master at braids and my DDs hair was never really infested apart from a couple of times. The multiple combs kept the eggs at bay.

A 100%

My daughter has only ever caught it once and it traumatised the pair of us.
She has such thick hair it took 90mins to comb it all through and get them out. Then I had to ask my mum to do mine and re-live the childhood trauma of her nit combing my equally mega thick hair.
I got a bit obsessed and ended up going back through my hair so much my scalp was really sore. There was nothing on the comb but just the thought made me itch x

C. I mean, it would mostly be 'well, thanks a bloody bunch, you cow' but she has got a point re school allowing children with nits into class anyway.

A! With bells on! That's neglect.

This wasn’t to me. 😅 I’m a resounding A though! Same when people say this when they do it with unwell children. I KNOW they can go to school with nits, a face full of snot, conjunctivitis, covid, HFM etc. However, it’s a pain in the arse (at best) for those you pass it on to and it’s perfectly reasonable to think WTF do I want that in my house for.
