Hi. I have opened an account but still get wages and some direct debits go out of my coop account. Find coop a bit old fashioned. Does not tell you if slightly overdrawn etc. Husband had another account with major bank too. Does anyone use Monzo as their main account ie wages paid in etc as have been advised just to use it for shopping etc. I find the app really good. Husband wld keep his account. THANKS.

What do you mean by just use it for shopping?

I have used Monzo for years- for wages and shopping..?

Monzo is my main bank account, wages paid in as I can get them the day before from 4pm, and it’s great for using when abroad.

I love Monzo. It's my main account, and pay for the next tier with perks. My wages get split into separate pots when I get paid, and each pot can have it's own virtual card, so if you pay with Google or Apple pay, you can do it from the relevant pot.

You also get some freebies, the best of which is a free Railcard each year.

This account means that I can stick to a budget easily.

I use Monzo as my main/only account and as PP have said it’s really great - I find budgeting and saving so much easier with Monzo

Thanks all. I think I will use it as a main account. I do like it so far for every day use. Like the idea of the money going in different pots. What I mean by shopping is I will transfer so much over for food etc buy no direct debits go out at the moment or wages in. Be good to use overseas too. Thanks again.
