Houseplant recommendations for dark kitchen

Looking for recommendations please for houseplants that would be suitable for a dark kitchen. The windows are small and they face north. Would like to have some plants on the windowsills and also on a dresser. Nothing too fragile that needs a lot of looking after. Thank you.

I have had success with a snake plant in a dark bathroom. I’ve had it for years and it’s still alive and looking good!

Ivy or mother in law's tongue (snake plant), Dragon Tree, Dracaena, Dieffenbachia, Aspidistra

Spider plants will live pretty much anywhere.

You can get quite pretty grow lights now that clip onto the side of a pot.
I’ve got a couple powered by powerbanks.

I’ve got spider plant's, tradescantias, ferns and peace lily’s in awkward spots without the lights. They are doing well.

Re: peace lilly i find they don't flower if there isn't much direct light. Fine for just foliage but don't expect the white flowers if it's dingy. I've had to move mine 3 times to get it happy enough to flower.

Peace lilies make a right mess when they flower. I'd say that's a win.

🤣 yes they do ! I was thinking exactly that last night. Mine will only flower if it lives on our dining room table and i'm always having to sweep the pollen or whatever it is off it!

That’s a fair point. I just Hoover mine on the lowest setting
