Following on from a different thread, Im wondering what makes for a good close sibling relationships? Is it upbringing, emphasis on strong family bonds, personality?

I myself dont have a close relationship with mine. No fallout or anything we arrjust completely different people with very little common ground.

Thinking about my own children and what their relationship will be like when they are adults.

I have two sisters. Not as close to my oldest but very close to my younger one. I think this is because we are only 2 years apart, were treated the same as kids, had the same interests and grew up going through the same life stages together. We lived together as young adults and today have the same circle of friends - every friend she’s introduced me to I like and vice versa. But I think it was because we shared a room and did almost everything together from when we were tiny. Our personalities are also complementary- we both don’t have that much in common with our older sister.
