what you learnt?

we don’t need to go out everyday or even every week booking expensive visits to various places.

don’t need expensive snacks…they prefer home made snacks and are happy to take packed lunches outside…

rest is very important…

That my kids always want to do the opposite things
That my kids constantly annoy and wonder each each other up for the sake of it.
That screen time will not kill them.

😂

That I love my children dearly but six weeks is far too long 😂

That I could never homeschool.
That I need more time to myself than I realised. I get overstimulated by noise and conversation very easily!

That a 1 year old and a 7 year old can in fact argue and fight despite the age gap.

Absolutely! Also my kids are little slugs and do not ever want to leave the house!! 🤣

That my children just needed to run free outdoors as much as possible. My grandchildren are much the same. Luckily we live pretty rurally.

ThrivingIn2025ing · 30/08/2025 22:03

Next year I’m going to take them away for 3 or 4 weeks because none of us enjoy weeks at home. Even if we have to camp and eat bread and butter every day, I’m doing it.

CeeCeeDeeBee · 31/08/2025 07:04

That I only have a few more of these left before she won’t be interested in spending time with me, and that is devastating.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 31/08/2025 07:53

That at very nearly 17 and 14 we’re probably done with family holidays.

Getagrip22 · 31/08/2025 07:56

That there is more important things than mess.
(I work time time only - so thought I'd use some of the six weeks to do some jobs).

fateisdestined2025 · 01/09/2025 15:20

I don’t think I could home school either 😂

the realisation your children might not want to hang out with you earlier also saddens me…going to think about booking more holidays but not so that we are in debt…

I’ve just accepted mess…do what you can…do some the next day…it’s not the end of the world…otherwise i burn myself out and with kids it’s back to square one again…

food wise aswell keep life simple and healthy…no fancy meal kits…they’re more hassle than help
