I love Bourton on the Hill, and the Horse and Groom pub is very good. Easy to combine with a wander round Moreton in Marsh

The Cotswolds are quite spread out, would be helpful to know where you are.

Broadway is lovely and there was a great museum for the furniture designer Gordon Russell which was a hidden gem.

Bourton is nice for a paddle but does get very busy.

Buscot Park is amazing.

edited to add - just seen you’ve got 2 kids with you, which might knock out some of that!

Which bit of the Cotswolds? We like No 5 Restaurant in Winchcombe - better than a gastro pub. We also like The Swan at Swinbrook which is quite near Burford which is always worth a visit. Another fab place is Broadway. Several great cafes and good shopping. The Seagrave Arms in Weston Sub Edge is a lovely place to eat. Also don’t forget to look at Stow on the Wold, Chipping Campden and Snowshill Manor. Daylesford Organic has a great cafe and The Bull at Charlbury is amazing! Probably fully booked!

If you are near Cheltenham, Lumiere is the best of the best. Very special. Prithvi is a fantastic Indian restaurant there too.

I’ve just seen 2 dc too! Ignore Cheltenham recommendations. And No 5. You could see if the steam railway is running from near Broadway.

I’ve got to do a shout out for the Burford garden centre - it’s amazing and has a lovely restaurant.

Will dc like a garden centre? Yes, pretty nice cafe but there’s quite a few pubs around there. Eg at Swinbrook.
